The House Beats and Tweets was my grad show (National Film and Television School, 2012) and my attempt at rebooting the music chart show format.
Each episode was to be shot in a fabulous county house around the UK so the audience would come from the local area (hello rationality!).
Being a true Londoner (OK and for budget reasons), we shot it in London, and luckily, were able to secure the social enterprise and beautiful Grade I listed Georgian townhouse and private members club that supports the homeless at the House of St Barnabas, in Soho, as our location after our other location 33 Portland Place fell done, and that's another story...
To shoot this show, it meant ripping at the TV studio of the NFTS, they first time they had ever done it! It was and amazing experience to develop the show idea from scratch, production manage, produce and direct it, over a two day schedule. It was OB recorded as live, with live music from rapper Chozen and his band , The Razzle, a five piece band, and a beautiful acoustic set in the ethereal chapel, of the House of St Barnabas with singer songwriter Jessica Carmody including a studio audience with a dedicated website that I built with QR codes to "purchase" the songs on the shows! Absolutely loved it even if I didn't sleep for months.
